Little Me (charity) has recently been set up by myself and Dan as we feel passionately about helping families of children with medical conditions.
Our aim is to support families through any trauma they may be experiencing by offering a contribution towards the purchase of a much needed piece of medical equipment to use at home. Some PCT Trusts will not fund equipment, causing families to regularly visit hospitals, clinics and surgeries. These can be a fair distance to travel to causing stress for the child and their parents.
We have a goal to provide all GP surgeries in Sussex with a fabulous collection of educational books and toys to keep little ones occupied and happy whilst waiting to see the doctor. There will be books titled "my visit to the doctor", "my tonsils", "going to the hospital" etc). (Why do GP surgeries have battery operated toys with no batteries!!!, books that are ripped and pages missing and not much else)!
We are applying to the National Lottery, foundations/trusts and local businesses for contributions.
Our medium goal (and the biggest) is to open a charity shop where the fundraising can continue and we can support local families and donate to:-
